Jones, Orsulak elected to Orioles’ Hall of Fame; Spring Breakout roster announced

March 6, 2025 by Baltimore Baseball

SARASOTA—Adam Jones and Joe Orsulak were elected to the Orioles’ Hall of Fame, the team announced on Thursday. Longtime broadcaster Tom Davis was named the winner of the Herb Armstrong Award.

Jones, who recently returned to the organization as a Special Advisor to the General Manager and Community Ambassador, is among the franchise leader in several offensive categories. Jones was fourth in hits with 1,781, fifth in home runs (263) and fifth in RBI with 866.

He was a five-time All-Star and four-time Gold Glover. Jones also won three Most Valuable Oriole Awards in an 11-year Orioles career.

Orsulak played five season with seasons with the Orioles and in 1991 set a franchise record with 22 outfield assists. He hit .281 with the Orioles.

Davis, a five-time Maryland Sportscaster of the Year Award winner, was best known for his years as a host on O’s extra and also filled in on radio and television broadcasts.

Jones, Orsulak and Davis will be honored before the August 9th game against the Athletics. The Oriole Advocates will hold a luncheon in their honor on August 8th.

The first 20,000 fans on August 9th will receive an Adam Jones bobblehead.

Spring breakout rosters: Twenty-two players on the Orioles’ top 30 prospect list are on the roster for the second annual Spring Breakout game.

Catcher Samuel Basallo, the top-ranked prospect, and outfielders Enrique Bradfield Jr., who’s ranked third and Vance Honeycutt, who’s ranked fourth are on the roster. Bradfield and Honeycutt were the top Orioles’ draft choices in 2023 and 2024.

Outfielders Dylan Beavers and Jud Fabian, who along with Bradfield were also in major league camp with the Orioles until Sunday are also on the roster.

Orioles prospects play those of the New York Yankees on March 15th at 6 p.m. at Ed Smith Stadium.

Besides Beavers, Bradfield, Fabian and Honeycutt, the other outfielders are top 30 prospects Stiven Martinez, Austin Overn, Jordan Sanchez and Thomas Sosa.

The pitchers are left-hander Luis De León and right-handers Michael Forret, Nestor German, Keeler Morfe, Patrick Reilly, Levi Wells and Cameron Weston.

Wells, a fourth rounder in 2023, was 0-9 with a 6.71 ERA in 21 games for High-A Aberdeen was not among the top 30.

Basallo is joined by three other catchers, Ethan Anderson, Miguel Rodríguez and Creed Willems.

Rodriguez, a 19-year-old Venezuelan, who’s not among the top 30 prospects, played 68 games for the Orioles’ Florida Complex League team as well as Single-A Delmarva, hitting .274 with a .767 OPS.

The infielders are Leandro Arias, Aron Estrada, DJ Layton, Joshua Liranzo, Griff O’Ferrall, Fernado Peguero and Max Wagner.

All but Peguero, a 20-year-old Dominican, who played 67 games for the FCL Orioles, Delmarva and Triple-A Norfolk, hitting .260 and Wagner, a second rounder in 2022, who played just 25 games last season due to injuries are among the top 30 prospects.
