Morton induced a RBI sacrifice fly before being replaced by Albert Suarez. Suarez promptly threw a wild pitch, allowing the third run of the inning. After allowing the fourth Toronto run on a Vladimir Guerrero Jr. sac fly, the defense allowed another run to score when Jorge Mateo threw the ball past Ryan Mountcastle and into the dugout on an Anthony Santander single, allowing Bo Bichette to score.
Morton, tagged with the loss, finished with a line of 4 runs allowed on 7 hits with a walk and 3 strikeouts over 3.1 innings pitched.
Suarez, who remained in the game through the sixth inning, threw another wild pitch that gave the Blue Jays a chance to plate their sixth run. He finished with a line of 2 runs allowed, 1 earned, on 5 hits with 2 strikeouts and 2 wild pitches.
Cionel Perez pitched the seventh and allowed 2 runs on 2 hits with a walk, 2 strikeouts and a balk.
The Orioles lone offensive highlight was a third inning 425′ homerun by Jackson Holliday (2 for 3, HR, R, RBI).
Ryan O’Hearn (1 for 3, BB) accounted for the Orioles only other hit off Blue Jays pitching.
