A 48-year-old man died early Saturday morning following a single-vehicle crash in Southeast Baltimore, police said.
Officers responded around 6:19 a.m. to the 5200 block of O’Donnell Street after receiving reports of a vehicle fire, according to the Baltimore Police Department.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that the vehicle had struck a utility pole and caught fire on impact. Bystanders were able to pull the driver from the burning vehicle and attempted to administer aid before emergency medical personnel arrived, police said.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries. No other information was made available.
The department’s Crash Team is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
