The Orioles are promoting outfielder Dylan Beavers, their third-ranked prospect, the club announced on Saturday morning.
Beavers, the 33rd overall pick in the 2022 draft, was hitting .304 with a .934 OPS, 18 home runs and 51 RBIs in 94 games at Triple-A Norfolk. The left-handed hitter played all three outfield positions at Triple-A Norfolk.
By waiting until now, Beavers will be eligible for Rookie of the Year honors in 2026 since he won’t accrue 45 days of service time. He’ll also have to not take 130 at-bats to remain eligible.
Earlier this week, the 24-year-old was added to Baseball America’s Top 100 prospects. If MLB Pipeline or ESPN.com adds him to their Top 100 prospects and Beavers is with the Orioles at the start of the 2026 season, and wins Rookie of the Year, the Orioles could gain a Prospect Promotion Incentive draft pick.
Catcher/first baseman Samuel Basallo, the team’s top prospect, who is on each of those lists, could be added to the Orioles’ roster on September 1st when the roster limits expand from 26 to 28.
Beavers’ contract was selected, and he was added to the 40-man roster. Outfielder Greg Allen, who was hitless in 14 at-bats, was designated for assignment.
