CHICAGO—The Orioles continue to add players after trading six at Thursday’s trade deadline. A day after claimed first baseman/outfielder Ryan Noda from the Chicago White Sox on waivers, they recalled him from Triple-A Norfolk, and on Sunday, claimed two more.
Infielder/outfielder Vidal Bruján was claimed from the Chicago Cubs and right-handed pitcher Carson Ragsdale was claimed from the San Francisco Giants.
Bruján has not reported and Ragsdale has been optioned to Norfolk.
Bruján hit .222 with three RBIs in 36 games with the Cubs. In four seasons with Chicago, Tampa Bay and Miami, Bruján has hit .192. He’s played every position but catcher in the major leagues.
Ragsdale was 5-5 with a 5.37 ERA in 18 games, 14 starts at Triple-A Sacramento this season.
With the additions of left-handed pitcher Dietrich Enns, Noda, Bruján and Ragsdale and utilityman Terrin Vavra designated for assignment to make room for Noda, the Orioles have 37 players on their 40-man roster.
