The lone affiliate winner on Wednesday night did it in a rather unconventional way.
Triple-A: Lehigh Valley IronPigs (Phillies) 4, Norfolk Tides 3
Chayce McDermott had some trouble with the long ball in this one. He gave up two home runs over his 5.2 innings, which inflated his line to four runs on five hits, two walks, and eight strikeouts. Nolan Hoffman tossed 1.1 scoreless innings of relief, and Matt Krook managed to emerge from his lone inning unscathed despite walking three.
Anthony Servideo hit his first Triple-A homer, a solo shot in the fifth inning. Norfolk scored twice more in the sixth on an RBI single from Daniel Johnson and a sac fly from Maverick Handley, but they would get no more. Coby Mayo collected a pair of hits (one single, one double) and a run scored. Connor Norby was 0-for-4 with a strikeout. Heston Kjerstad walked and scored a run.

Double-A: Altoona Curve (Pirates) 6, Bowie Baysox 4
Bowie starter Trace Bright got knocked around a bit in his 4.1 innings. Only three of the five runs he coughed up were earned, but they came on seven hits, a walk, three strikeouts, and a homer. Ryan Long was quite good in relief, allowing just one run on four hits, a walk, and four strikeouts over 3.2 innings. Keegan Gillies tossed a scoreless ninth and struck out two.
John Rhodes led the Baysox offense with three hits, including his fifth home run. Samuel Basallo contributed a single, a double, and a run scored. Frederick Bencosme reached base twice on a single and a walk. Matthew Etzel singled, stole a base, and scored a run.

High-A: Aberdeen IronBirds 2, Wilmington Blue Rocks (Nationals) 1
What an effort from the Aberdeen pitching staff. Luis De León started and went four innings, allowing just one run on three hits, a walk, and five strikeouts. Michael Forret earned the win with his three shutout innings in which he walked three but also struck out eight. Cody Scroggins wrapped things up with two shutout innings and two strikeouts.
The IronBirds managed just five hits but walked 11 times and had 15 at-bats with runners in scoring position. Both of their runs were driven in by Adam Retzbach, a groundout RBI in the second inning and an RBI double in the fourth. Enrique Bradfield Jr. had a big day with a single, two walks, and four stolen bases. Reed Trimble walked three times and stole two bases. Douglas Hodo II was 1-for-2 with a pair of walks, a stolen base, and two runs scored.
Low-A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (Astros) 8, Delmarva Shorebirds 5
Early on, things went well on the mound for Delmarva. Trey Gibson surrendered just one run on three hits, three walks, and three strikeouts over three innings. Cooper Chandler followed with a pair of shutout innings. But later, things fell apart. Jacob Cravey allowed six runs on seven hits, a walk, and three strikeouts over 2.2 innings. Those runs were not his fault alone. Randy Berigüete had come in to relieve but committed two balks with runners on third base, one of which was a run charged to Cravey.
There was better news at the plate, where the Shorebirds had 10 hits and three walks. Cole Urman doubled, homered, and drove in two runs. Jake Cunningham reached base thrice and scored a run. Aron Estrada had two hits and a stolen base. Luis Valdez singled and swiped a bag.
