The Orioles reacquired right-handed relief pitcher Andrew Kittredge from the Chicago Cubs in exchange for cash considerations. They traded Kittredge to the Cubs at the trade deadline for teenaged Dominican shortstop prospect Wilfri De La Cruz.
Kittredge, who signed with the Orioles in January, has a $9 million option for 2026.
In 31 games with the Orioles, Kittredge was 2-2 with a 3.45 ERA. Because of knee surgery during spring training, he didn’t make his first Oriole appearance until May 21st.
Kittredge was 2-1 with a 3.32 ERA and five saves in 21 games for the Cubs. He pitched in five games in the postseason with an 0-1 record, a 5.40 ERA and a save.
The 35-year-old Kittredge will give the Orioles an experienced back-end reliever.
Note: The Orioles signed 30-year-old left-hander Josh Walker to a 2026 contract. Walker, who was claimed off waivers from Philadelphia on August 21st, had a 7.20 ERA in three games for Toronto this season.
