Despite suffering a badly bruised right forearm when Colorado’s Jordan Beck lined a ball at him, Dean Kremer will start Friday night’s game against Tampa Bay, the team announced on Thursday night.
Kremer threw this week, and manager Brandon Hyde lauded him for being “incredibly tough” for trying to pitch in his regularly scheduled turn. Hyde remarked that there was still swelling present this week.
Kremer (6-9, 4.51) will face the Rays’ Shane Baz (2-2, 3.49) on Friday. Zach Eflin (10-7, 3.60) is scheduled to pitch against Ryan Pepiot (7-6, 3.76) and Corbin Burnes (13-7, 3.19) and Zack Littell (5-9, 4.04) are Sunday’s starters.
Saturday’s game begins at 4:05 p.m. while Sunday’s game, which will shown exclusively on Roku starts at 12:05 p.m.
