O’s Bats Come Up Big In Win

September 3, 2024 by Orioles Hangout

The Baltimore Orioles offense did all the work on Labor Day, pummeling the Chicago White Sox 13-3 in front of 35,906 fans at Camden Yards. After spotting the Pale Hose two runs in the first inning, the Orioles responded by scoring eleven unanswered runs. It all started with a Gunnar Henderson (1 for 4, HR, R, 3 RBI, BB) lead-off homerun. The homerun, his 34th of the season, traveled 397 ft. to centerfield and tied him with Miguel Tejada and Cal Ripken Jr. for the most single season homeruns by an Oriole shortstop.

The Baltimore offense was so dominant that every starter had at least one hit and scored at least one run. Multiple players had a big day at the plate.
