The Baltimore Orioles offense managed to score one run on three hits with three walks and 17 strikeouts in a 9-1 loss to the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday night. Twins starter Pablo Lopez (3-2) stymied the Orioles for 5.0 innings, allowing one run on two hits with a walk and eleven strikeouts.
On the flip side, Orioles starter Cade Povich (1-3) allowed five runs on six hits (1 HR) with four strikeouts over 6.0 innings. The Twins did all their damage against Povich in the third inning, tagging him with the loss.
At 13-21, the Orioles now have the fourth worst record in MLB; only the Rockies (6), White Sox (10) and Pirates (12) have less wins.
Ryan Mountcastle went 1 for 4 with a double and 1 RBI.
Gunnar Henderson went 0 for 3 with a run scored and a walk.
Jackson Holliday went 1 for 4 while Heston Kjerstad went 1 for 3.
The Baltimore bullpen melted down in the seventh inning with Cionel Perez allowing 2 runs, 1 earned, with a walk and a strikeout in 0.1 inning and Matt Bowman allowing 2 runs on 3 hits (HR) with a strikeout over 0.2 inning.
