3:38pm: Minor league righty Boston Bateman is one of the prospects heading to the O’s in the trade, per Dennis Lin of The Athletic. Roch Kubatko of MASNsports.com adds that as many as five additional minor leaguers on their way back to Baltimore in a volume-heavy package.
3:30pm: The Padres and Orioles are in agreement on a trade sending first baseman/outfielder Ryan O’Hearn from Baltimore to San Diego, reports Robert Murray of FanSided. Outfielder Ramon Laureano is also going to San Diego in the deal, ESPN’s Jeff Passan adds.
O’Hearn and Laureano stood as two of the more obvious trade candidates on the Orioles’ roster. The former is a pure rental earning an $8MM salary in 2025, while the latter is owed $4MM this year and has a $6.5MM club option for the 2026 season. Both are in the midst of productive seasons at the plate, and both will provide noted upgrades to San Diego’s lineup.
