Robinson Chirinos will not be returning to the Orioles in 2026, according to a report by the Baltimore Banner. Chirinos was bench coach in 2025, his only season with the team. He will reportedly look for opportunities with other teams.
Chirinos spent 11 seasons as a major league catcher, the last in 2022 with the Orioles.
Assistant hitting coaches Tommy Joseph and Sherman Johnson will not return. Johnson will coach for the Chicago White Sox. First base coach Anthony Sanders was given permission to look elsewhere.
These moves came after Craig Albernaz was named manager on Monday.
The status of hitting coach Cody Asche, third base coach Buck Britton, pitching coach Drew French, assistant pitching coach Ryan Klimek, bullpen coach Mitch Plassmeyer, development coach Grant Anders, and senior advisor John Mabry remain uncertain.
