The Baltimore Orioles beat the Boston Red Sox 5-1 on Sunday to split the series and win two games in a row for the first time since April 30th and May 2nd. Decent pitching, a pair of homeruns and Little League play by Boston late in the game provided the winning formula.
Dean Kremer (4-5) gave the Orioles 5.1 innings of scoreless baseball. He allowed 7 hits, walked 1 and struck out 4 in securing the win, his fourth of the season. Kremer gave up at least one hit in each of the innings he pitched but managed to extract himself from any trouble.
Four relievers followed Kremer with Gregory Soto (0.2 IP, K) and Keegan Akin (1.0 IP, H, K) holding the line. Bryan Baker lowered his season ERA to 1.93 with a clean eighth inning. Boston scored their lone run off of Andrew Kittredge (1.0 IP, R, 2 H, 2 K) in the ninth.
Gunnar Henderson (1 for 2, 2 R, 2 BB) opened the fourth inning with a walk, advanced to third on a Ryan O’Hearn (3 for 3, 2B, HR, 2 R, RBI, BB) single and scored on a Ramon Urias (1 for 3, 2B, RBI) sac. fly.

The eighth inning is when the Little League Red Sox appeared. Henderson opened the frame with a walk. O’Hearn followed with a double that was bobbled by Ceddanne Rafaela, Henderson advanced to third and the throw into the infield hit O’Hearn on the leg and rolled toward first base, allowing Henderson to score and O’Hearn to advance to third. Marcelo Mayer‘s throw to third went wide and skipped into the stands, allowing O’Hearn to score. In the span of two errors the inning went from runners on second and third to two runs scored.
