Albert Suárez is on the bump, hoping to get some long-overdue support from the Orioles offense in Fenway.
It’s a big night for our country. Two sides facing off, scratching and clawing in pursuit of the most-esteemed place in all the land. And the head-to-head battle will be broadcast on national TV for all to see. Fireworks are sure to fly.
Of course, I am referring to the race for the American League playoffs. The two sides are our beloved Orioles and the hated Red Sox. And the stage will be TBS, although local blackouts do apply. I would imagine the Red Sox set off fireworks when they hit a home run, right?
Anyway…
The Orioles need to start winning baseball games again. Their spot in the playoffs is not yet guaranteed, and although they have a pretty big cushion to play with, they have to be careful.
Pitching has not been the issue recently (last night not withstanding). More often it has been the power outage on offense that has caused the heartache for Orioles fans. Unfortunately, there is nowhere for Brandon Hyde to turn. What the club has in-house is all they have to work with. Maybe a late-season return from Jordan Westburg or Ryan Mountcastle will help. But ultimately it will be up to the team’s stars to lead the way.
Let’s get it going, guys!
