Cade Povich makes his second career start as the Orioles look for a series victory over the Braves.
Cade Povich will take the mound at Camden Yards for the first time tonight against the Braves. The 24-year-old will look to make a positive impression after allowing six earned runs in his first career start last week.
With Dean Kremer inching toward a return, and Albert Suárez showing he belongs in the rotation, it could prove difficult for Povich to stick around long term. The Orioles are utilizing a six-man rotation right now, and Povich will attempt to justify his place tonight against Atlanta.
Gunnar Henderson will return to the lineup after a rare day off. Adley Rutschman will slot behind the plate, and Ryan Mountcastle will play first base. Ryan O’Hearn will man right field with Anthony Santander taking the designated hitter spot.
Austin Hays and Cedric Mullins will complete the infield, while Ramón Urías and Jorge Mateo handle second and third.
The Braves will start right-hander Spencer Schwellenbach (0-2, 8.38 ERA).
