The Washington Mystics rookies and WNBA All-Stars talk about seasons so far on Sue Birds podcast.
Washington Mystics rookie guard Sonia Citron and forward Kiki Iriafen will both participate in the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET on ABC or WJLA-TV in the D.C. area.

In Bird’s podcast, both Citron and Iriafen give their insights on how the Mystics organization has developed them. I don’t want to read too much into details, but Monumental Basketball President Michael Winger’s vision of the team is to make sure that the players are talented yet grounded when they enter. And when they leave (because … no career lasts forever), they are better players and people all around. My biggest takeaway from the podcast is that both Citron and Iriafen embody that vision.
They also chat about common connections they have with Bird, including Mystics player development coach Barbara Turner and center Stefanie Dolson. Both Turner and Dolson graduated from the University of Connecticut like Bird. And Bird even mentions a past story where she tried to convince Dolson to go to the Seattle Storm (Bird’s only WNBA team) in 2022, but Dolson decided to go to the New York Liberty instead.
