Justin Champagnie and Jaylen Nowell will represent the Wizards and Capital City Go-Go, the first players named to the event from the organization
According to a press release from the NBA G League, the Wizards’ organization will have two representatives in the G League’s Up Next Game. Wizards two-way wing Justin Champagnie and Capital City Go-Go guard Jaylen Nowell will participate in the game which takes place Sunday, February 16, in San Francisco, California, during All-Star weekend.
This is only the third time the game has been held and Champagnie and Nowell are the first players affiliated with Washington to be asked to participate. The first ten players who will play in the game were picked by a fan vote, which had Champagnie finishing second. Nowell was one of the next 18 players selected by the G League.

Wizards fans are surely familiar with Champagnie as he’s averaging 8 points and 4.9 rebounds in 27 games with the team. Unsurprisingly, he’s been even more productive in the G League, averaging 20 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 2.4 blocks, and 1.1 steals in 8 games.
Nowell has easily been one of the most impressive players in the entire G League which led to him receiving a short call-up from the New Orleans Pelicans earlier this season. In 17 games with the Go-Go, he’s averaging 23.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 4.5 assists. He’s 8th leading scorer in the league amongst all players who have played enough to qualify.
