What to watch for
- The Mystics are on a winning streak! They snuck out of Seattle with a 74-72 victory over the Storm. Brittney Sykes hit the game-winning free throws after drawing a foul on Skylar Diggins-Smith. She led the team with 20 points, the night after scoring a season-high 28 against LA. The trio of Julie Vanloo, Emily Engstler, and Shatori Walker-Kimbrough scored in double-digits each to round out Washington’s offense.
- On the flip side, Chicago has lost three straight and six of their last eight games. They showed a ton of fight in a 77-75 loss to the Aces on Sunday. The Sky fought back from a late deficit on the back of great play from Chennedy Carter (25 points) and Angel Reese (11 points/22 rebounds).
- Part of the reason for the winning streak was getting Ariel Atkins, Shakira Austin, and Sykes on the floor together. Of course, Austin will miss tomorrow’s game due to an ankle injury. Hopefully, Stef Dolson and Engstler can fill in for Austin’s minutes. Chicago will be missing Carter due to health and safety protocols, the team announced today.
