Mystics fans are feeling a little better after the 2024 WNBA Draft, but they probably aren’t feeling overly optimistic either.
Thank you for your responses to our latest SB Nation Reacts survey, Washington Mystics fans. Here are the results to this week’s two-question survey.
Fans give the Aaliyah Edwards draft selection an A!

In our first question, we wanted to see your grades on the Mystics picking UConn forward Aaliyah Edwards No. 6 overall. The good news is that out of over 200 respondents, 59 percent gave the selection an A! ‘Nuff said, fans are happy with it. Sure, Edwards isn’t some point guard from Iowa. But if the Mystics selected LSU forward Angel Reese at No. 6, that pick could have been considered a reach, and some others may accuse the Mystics of playing the regionalism card as well. Reese is from Baltimore, Md. and she also started her college at ………….. Maryland.

On Feb. 17, we released our SB Nation Reacts survey results after asking what grades you would give the Mystics after the first two weeks of free agency. In that survey, the median grade was a D, after Washington lost Natasha Cloud in free agency and Elena Delle Donne who decided to sit out the year. For reference, here is the X post showing the detailed breakdown of grades.

Edwards’ selection certainly helped improve offseason grades between February and April. However, fans remain concerned that the Mystics still lost more talent (Cloud and Delle Donne) than they brought in (Stefanie Dolson, Karlie Samuelson). We’ll see if these moves were for the best in the weeks ahead.
