Thomas is a 6’9, floor-spacing forward who just finished his super senior season with Montana.
NBA Draft prospect Dischon Thomas completed a workout with the Washington Wizards on Monday afternoon and joined me on the latest Bleav in Wizards podcast to talk about his experience. This new front office has played their workouts a little closer to the vest than the previous administration so Thomas was able to offer a lot of behind-the-scenes insight we haven’t gotten much of thus far.
Thomas is a 6’9, fifth-year senior forward that averaged 11.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1 block per game for Montana. He shot 41% from three-point range on four attempts per game and 79% from the free-throw line. The shooting with size is probably what caught the eyes of the front office but he can also score effectively around the rim and switch defensively.
Thomas isn’t currently featured on many draft boards but would be an intriguing candidate on a Two-Way or Exhibit 10 contract as someone who can come in right away and provide perimeter shooting from the 4 or 5 positions. He’s also the type of high-character guy this front office seems to be prioritizing.

In the episode, Thomas walks us through the structure of the workout, how it was run, how it differed from other workouts, how many other players were involved, and who ran it for the Wizards. He wasn’t sure of the names of everyone on the staff who was involved but mentioned several coaches actually participated in the workout, including former NBA player and current Capital City Go-Go assistant coach Alexis Ajinca.
For anyone who doesn’t remember him, Ajinca is a 7’2 French center who played eight years in the NBA, so he was likely a formidable addition to a workout. We were also able to confirm that Wizards Sr. VP Player Personnel Travis Schlenk is the one running the pre-draft workouts.

Make sure to join Kevin Broom and I on draft night, starting at 8:00 p.m. EST for a live draft show on the Bleav in Wizards YouTube channel or X/Twitter accounts!
Additionally, we will be using that event as way to raise money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in their fight to end multiple sclerosis (MS). MS is a terrible disease that affects several members of the Wizards community, including Wizards radio broadcaster Dave Johnson.
In the days leading up to our live NBA Draft show on June 26, anyone that makes a donation and has something they’d like us to advertise, plug, or promote during the show can let us know and we will do so! This is our most-viewed show of the year so whatever you’d like to promote in return for your donation will get plenty of eyes on it.
The money we raise through our NBA Draft fundraiser will help fund MS research, programs and services so that people affected by MS can live their best lives. We’ve set an ambitious goal because I know that with support from people like you, I can get there.
