Peavy is from Georgetown University, but also played at Texas Tech and TCU.
The Washington Wizards selected forward Micah Peavy at No. 40 overall on Thursday in the 2025 NBA Draft.
Peavy averaged 17.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.3 steals per game In the 2024-25 season and was named to the All-Big East First team last season. Given his style of play, Peavy will likely be a 3-and-D player. Since he also played at Georgetown last season, D.C. will already be familiar to him. At least nominally.
The reason why I wrote that last clause is because he is expected to be traded to the New Orleans pelicans. This is part of the Jordan Poole trade that happened just days before the draft.
But for now, he is still a Wizard.
