Today, we head into Day 3 of NBA Free Agency. There hasn’t been any significant news regarding the Washington Wizards’ free agents. So let’s check in on them.
Who are the Wizards’ current free agents?
Here are the three players who wore a Washington uniform last year and are still active free agents:
- Malcolm Brogdon (32 years old, 12.7 ppg and 4.1 apg in 24 appearances)
- Tristan Vukcevic (22 years old, 9.4 ppg in 35 appearances)
- JT Thor (22 years old, 3.6 ppg in 20 appearances but 11 with the Wizards)
Brogdon is an unrestricted free agent and can sign with any team, full stop. He is rumored to be talking to the Sacramento Kings. My feeling? He may or may not be with the Kings, but I think Brogdon is out.
Vukcevic was on a two-way contract in 2024-25 but produced quite well for Washington. According to Keith Smith of Spotrac, the Wizards gave him a two-way qualifying offer, making him a restricted free agent.
The Washington Wizards have tendered a two-way qualifying offer to Tristan Vukcevic.
Vukcevic will now be a restricted free agent on July 1.

I think that Vukcevic will be on a full NBA contract sooner rather than later, preferably in a Wizards uniform.
Thor, like Vukcevic, was also on a two-way contract. However, he wasn’t a major part of the rotation and there is no reports on a possible change in his status.
What about Khris Middleton?
The Wizards will keep Middleton, who picked up his player option of $33.3 million.
Alright, that’s all I have. Things can change quickly in NBA Free Agency, even for the Wizards in another rebuilding year. Chat about the moves below!
