NBA Rising Stars 2025 recap: Wizards players eliminated in the semifinals

February 15, 2025 by Bullets Forever

2025 NBA All-Star - Rising Stars Game

Do we care who makes it on Team Candace at this point?

The 2025 NBA Rising Stars Challenge was on Friday in San Francisco. Here are the recaps.

SEMIFINALS

Team C 40, Team T 34

The Washington Wizards had Alex Sarr representing the DM for Team T. Unfortunately, he was a non-factor by scoring 3 points on 1-of-2 shooting. But here’s his highlight.

Team C had an all-around strong performance by shooting 63 percent overall. Keynote George with 10 points for his team.

For Team T, Gradey Dick led with 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting.

Team G League 40, Team M 39

I was hopeful that Team M would defeat the G League team. After all, Bilal Coulibaly and Bub Carrington are on the team. And there’s a reason why the G Leaguers aren’t full time NBA Players.

Team G was mostly in control of this game though they weren’t blowing anyone out. But Team G League remained in striking distance throughout. But there was a log stretch where the game was stuck at 37-35 Team M where neither team could get a bucket. Coulibaly even missed an alley-oop dunk that would have given them a 39-35 lead,

Ultimately, Bryce McGowens made a game winning three pointer to beat a team of NBA rookies and sophomores with Bub Carrington defending him.

Carrington scored 5 points off the bench and Coulibaly scored 4 and got the start.

When the Wizards are no longer a factor in the Rising Stars Challenge, I don’t care who won. It’s Valentine’s Day and I’m tired. But as you might expect, Team C won since they had more talent and fresher legs, 25-14.

The Wizards are now eliminated from the NBA All-Star Game with both teams losing in the semifinals. At least Sarr will be in the Skills Challenge with Zaccharie Risacher tomorrow. We’ll cover that tomorrow. Events start at 8 p.m. ET. See you then.
