Welcome to the last day of the 2024 Olympics men’s basketball tournament. Here are yesterday’s scores from the women’s basketball semifinals and the schedule for today’s men’s basketball games.

All games are played at Accor Arena in Paris and will be on TV. They will be on different TV networks though!
- La médaille de bronze: Germany vs. Serbia, 5 a.m. ET on USA
- La médaille d’or: France vs. United States, 3:30 p.m. ET on NBC (WRC-TV in D.C.)
SB Nation Reacts results: Wizards fans believe the NBA should have breaks for international tournaments, players should eye in 3×3 if they choose
This week’s SB Nation Reacts survey focused on 3×3 and whether the NBA should have breaks for the international tournament calendar, given that professional leagues elsewhere do that. We had over 150 responses for this survey.
First with 3X3, a decisive majority of 62 percent of you believe that NBA players should be allowed to participate in this competition.

There is no mention on WHICH players should participate. It’s whether active players should be allowed to follow their dreams and play in 3X3. After all, do you think the Netherlands is a world basketball power? I don’t think FIBA has this ulterior motive to tip the scales toward the Orange Lions and other unknown European teams in countries where basketball isn’t a top tier sport. If countries’ best players dedicate themselves to 3×3, I think the United States will be in a better position, especially with the men, where it’s been more difficult to get the best players to show up.
If NBA players were to participate in 3×3 tournaments, some of which will likely happen during the regular season, there will likely need to be some periods where all teams have a short break so players can be on national 3X3 teams or national 5X5 teams for continental qualifiers like AmeriCup in the case of the United States. Here, only 50 percent of you believe that the league should have a break for those kinds of things.
