Wizards fans are also optimistic about where they will pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
Thank you for your responses to this week’s SB Nation Reacts survey, Wizards fans. They are below!
Wizards fans are relatively split on whether they are concerned about the silence from the front office and the slow pace of their head coach search. Most aren’t concerned though.
Thank you to the over 700 votes for this poll!
We asked three questions. The first two were very related and on the Wizards’ silence and slow pace since the offseason began in mid-April. Our first question was on whether fans were concerned that there wasn’t a full-time head coach and staff before the NBA Draft. A significant proportion, or 37 percent agreed that this was a concern. But in the end, most fans weren’t concerned.

We saw very similar results after asking whether fans were concerned that the Wizards were very quiet about their head coach search, or lack thereof. In that question, 36 percent were concerned that the team was very quiet about that.

Earlier this week, we learned that the Wizards were quiet because they didn’t even look for a permanent head coach at all since the offseason started. They will begin interviews by next week. My feeling is that Brian Keefe will get the job, but even if he doesn’t, General Manager Will Dawkins probably has a very small list of candidates he really wants to interview.
Unfortunately, it won’t be Mike Budenholzer, who is reportedly the new Phoenix Suns head coach. Nor is it Boston Celtics assistant coach Charles Lee, who will be going to the Charlotte Hornets. I also don’t think former Los Angeles Lakers head coach Darvin Ham will interview with the Wizards because he was an assistant with Budenholzer for quite some time. In other words, don’t be surprised to see Ham as an assistant for Budenholzer in Phoenix.
Budenholzer had already been forming his coaching staff behind the scenes before being hired by the Suns.
It will be interesting to see if Darvin Ham will once again take an assistant spot next to Budenholzer. https://t.co/rPc5O1edWD
