Pregame notes
The Washington Mystics will face the Connecticut Sun for the first time in the regular season on a Friday night prime time game. Both teams started the season this week, but on different notes: the Mystics lost (continuing their losing streak from the pre-season), while the Sun had a comfortable win against the hyped-up Indiana Fever. These two teams battled mightily just two seasons ago and at times fought for the #1-2 seed. Now of course they look differently but this is still an interesting game.
The loss to the N.Y. Liberty a couple nights ago was a close one with four of the Mystics starters scoring in double digits, headlined by 20 from Atkins.
Let’s see how the Mystics respond to prevent them from starting the season on a couple of consecutive losses, and shift the momentum. This could have a tough game against the Sun, especially on the road but it will be interesting one!
