Myisha Hines-Allen led with 13 points, while no Dream player scored in double figures.

The WNBA is growing as a league, despite what some of the haters on social media want to say. Now, the Washington Mystics may not be the first team that casual fans are looking at this season because of some rookie on the Indiana Fever, but I digress. There is still one frustrating issue I have with the league.

Preseason games are still often not on television. So, all I can do is look at the box score and imagine what the game would be like.

So on that note, the Mystics lost to the Atlanta Dream today. 87-84 in College Park, GEORGIA, not College Park, Maryland.

Washington led in the first half, taking a 45-41 lead at halftime. However, the Dream chipped away in the second half and came out with the win.

Preseason games aren’t supposed to mean too much in terms of results, so how did individuals perform? On that end Washington seemed to come out ahead. Myisha Hines-Allen led all scorers with 13 points off the bench in just under 15 minutes of playing time. She also shot 4-of-7 from the field. In addition, Ariel Atkins added 10 more points.

Also, Julie Vanloo had 8 assists off the bench!

That said, the Mystics shot just 35.4 percent from the field while the Dream shot 50;8 percent themselves. In addition, no Dream player scored in double figures, though I’d say that Aerial Powers was the most efficient Dream player today, as she and Taja Cole scored 9 points each.

The Mystics’ next game is on Wednesday, May 8 at home against the Minnesota Lynx. Tip off is at 11:30 a.m. ET. See you then.
