The good vibes were high for the Washington Wizards during Wednesday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center. The Wiz won 119-102 to extend its current win streak to three.
The Wizards were red-hot to start its first contest since trading Kyle Kuzma and Jonas Valanciunas. Kyshawn George hit his first three triples in the game, with his third putting the Wiz up 21-9 halfway through Q1.
Washington hit 12 three-pointers in the first half to post 65 points, the team’s third straight opening half with 12+ threes. It’s tied for the longest streak in NBA history. Brooklyn, however, also got hot from three, which kept the game close 65-61 at the break.

The Nets eventually cooled off in the second half, while the Wizards’ excellent ball movement kept their offense going. Bub Carrington and Bilal Coulibaly combined for 21 assists with Washington tallying 40 assists as a team, tied for the 8th-highest mark in franchise history.
Coulibaly recorded his first career triple-double. He finished with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists on 5/9 shooting.

Fellow youngsters Carrington and George were blistering from distance with nine threes between them. Carrington had 16 points and 10 assists, while George had 17 points, seven rebounds, and three assists.
The Wizards will put their streak on the line Friday against the Cleveland Cavaliers. They could also make history if they put up another 12-triple first half.
