The Washington Wizards made their second big trade of the day.
The Washington Wizards have agreed to trade center Jonas Valanciunas to the Sacramento Kings in exchange for Sidy Cissoko and two second round NBA draft picks, according to Shams Charania of ESPN. The deal comes as part of Washington’s broader strategy to reshape its roster and build around its younger core, while adding future assets to accelerate their rebuild.

Valanciunas, who joined the Wizards in 2024, has been a consistent presence in the paint, providing reliable scoring, rebounding, and veteran leadership. This season, he has averaged 11.5 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game, showcasing his ability to dominate inside and stretch the floor with his mid-range shooting.
Cissoko, a French native, played limited minutes in two NBA seasons since the 2023-24 season for the San Antonio Spurs. He was traded earlier this month to the Kings in a three team deal with the Chicago Bulls that ultimately brought De’Aaron Fox and Jordan McLaughlin to the Spurs.
