That’s not bad. He placed higher than Zaccharie Risacher the No. 1 overall pick, who was 5th.
This season, it isn’t entirely clear who will win the NBA Rookie of the Year race. But sometimes, fan surveys can give us a clue as to who has the momentum.
In our latest national SB Nation Reacts survey, the Wizards center finished fourth with San Antonio Spurs guard Stephon Castle winning with 49 percent of the vote.

Castle is averaging 12.8 points and 3.5 assists per game for the Spurs, who are 24-30 this season. As for Sarr, he is averaging 11.7 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game game this season. The Wizards are 9-46.
The Spurs are certainly playing better than last season, though they still aren’t yet living their late 1990s to 2010s era when they won five NBA championships. They are still 12th in the Western Conference. But for the Wizards, they are the worst team in the NBA standings. Perhaps Sarr didn’t place higher because of the team he is on. Also, Sarr missed a fair number of games before last night against the Milwaukee Bucks due to injury.
Do you feel Sarr still has a chance to win the NBA Rookie of the Year award? Let us know in the comments below.
