Not bad!
This week, we had SB Nation Reacts surveys for the Washington Wizards and Mystics. And here is the good news about the results: our respondents have relatively positive outlooks on the teams’ direction, though likely for different reasons.
Wizards fans were asked to grade the team’s offseason, and the results reflect cautious optimism. A combined 81 percent of respondents gave the team an A or B, signaling strong approval of the team’s draft strategy, trades, or front office moves. Only 4 percent of voters graded the offseason a D or F, suggesting that most fans see the Wizards as headed in the right direction long term, at least on paper.

Meanwhile, Mystics fans were polled about the team’s performance through the first half of the WNBA season. While 32 percent gave the team an A and 41 percent a B. Nearly 27 percent of fans handed out grades of C or lower. My guess is that it’s because the Mystics were asleep at the wheel during free agency in 2025. At least they have three All-Stars and the game is tomorrow!
The Wizards are being graded on their potential for the future; the Mystics on their results in the current season. But in both cases, Washington basketball fans appear more optimistic than disgruntled—and that’s a good thing for Monumental Basketball President Michael Winger.
