Champagnie shot 13-of-15 from the field against the team in his hometown.
Washington Wizards swingman Justin Champagnie is from New York City where was bornn in Staten Island and grew up in Brooklyn. Though the Wizards lost to the New York Knicks, 136-132 in overtime, Champagnie scored a career-high 31 points against one of his hometown teams. doing so on 13-of-15 shooting from the field. In addition, he also shot 5-of-6 from the three point line.

So far this season, Champagnie is averaging 11.2 points per game. Though he didn’t score in double digits in three of his last four games, Champagnie had five straight double figure scoring performances, including a 23 point showing against the Denver Nuggets on Dec.7.
