Tommy Sheppard is out as the general manager of the Wizards. The move was officially announced just moments ago.
In the team’s press release, Wizards owner Ted Leonsis said, “Failure to make the playoffs the last two seasons was very disappointing to our organization and our fans.”
Sheppard joined the Wizards in 2003 as an assistant executive under Ernie Grunfeld. He was promoted to general manager in 2019.Β
Judging by the reactions on Twitter, most basketball fans support the Wizards’ decision to move on from Sheppard.
