Kansas’ big-time win over No. 1 Baylor has sparked a major 2020 NCAA Tournament seeding projection change.

The Bears were previously the projected No. 1 overall seed for the upcoming tournament. But after losing to the Jayhawks at home on Saturday, Kansas is the new No. 1 overall seed, according to

Baylor has taken a small slide after the tough loss. The Bears are now the second-highest ranked one-seed behind Kansas. Gonzaga and San Diego State both remain No. 1 seeds as well. The Bulldogs have a massive contest with No. 23 BYU in Provo tonight, but Lunardi has made it clear Gonzaga won’t lose the No. 1 seed if it loses to the Cougars this evening.

Maryland, Dayton, Duke and Florida State are the current No. 2 seeds. Louisville is the highest ranked No. 3 seed, and could make the jump to the two-seed line if any of the current No. 2 seeds lose. Here’s Lunardi’s breakdown of the biggest changes after an eventful day of college hoops, for ESPN’s The Bracketology Show:

The bubble watch is heating up down the stretch of the regular season. As things currently stand, USC, Richmond, Providence and N.C. State are in the field.

But Cincinnati, Stanford, Georgetown and UCLA have plenty of work to do as each is among the ‘first four out’ at this point in the season.

The highly anticipated March Madness is right around the corner as February soon draws to a close.

We spoke to Lunardi about the upcoming NCAA Tournament this week. Check out our conversation with the expert bracketologist here.
