WHAT’S AT STAKE

Georgetown: The Hoyas are one of four teams realistically vying for fifth place in the league. That’s of course a big deal because with it comes a bye into the Big East Tournament quarterfinals. To have any chance at securing that spot, Georgetown needs to win its next three games beginning Saturday against Seton Hall. The Hoyas are also trying to finish with a non-losing conference record for for the first time since going 9-9 in 2019. Since realignment in the 2014 season, Georgetown has managed a winning Big East record just once, finishing 12-6 in 2015.

EPPS UPDATE

Coach Ed Cooley said that he expects Jayden Epps (12.3 ppg, 37.4 percent 3PT) to play vs Seton Hall when he spoke to media on Thursday. Epps, the Hoyas leading scorer last season, has been in and out of the lineup since Georgetown hung on for a 61-60 victory at Seton Hall on Dec. 22. After first dealing with a lower body and hamstring issue, the Hoyas guard has most recently been sidelined with an illness.

NOTES

With a win the Hoyas would earn their first season sweep of the Pirates since 2015.

If the line doesn’t drop before tip, Georgetown will be a double-digit favorite in a conference game for the first time since 2017.
