George Mason’s Justin Kier was a double-digit scorer as a sophomore and junior. After playing in just nine games as a senior, he is set to be a graduate transfer ahead of next season.

Kier had his best season with the Patriots in 2018-19 as a junior. He averaged 14.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game, and shot over 47-percent from the floor and 37-percent from three. He was shooting 45.8-percent from distance this season, before going out with injury.

Now, he’s set to jump up to a major conference. On Tuesday night, Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers reported that he is down to a final group of seven schools. Arkansas, Georgetown, Georgia, Iowa State, Michigan, Minnesota, and NC State are all in the running.

Kier has solid size for a guard at 6-foot-4. The Virginia native was an unranked high school prospect a few years ago. He developed into a quality college scorer during his 3+ seasons in the A-10.

The ACC, Big East, Big Ten, Big 12, and SEC are all represented here, so he has a very interesting group of options. The Georgetown Hoyas are the most local option for Justin Kier.

ESPN.com ranked him as the No. 17 graduate transfer to hit the market this offseason. Right now, only Purdue big man Matt Haarms is ranked ahead of him in terms of players that are still undecided.

As those options dwindle, he is a big piece left to fall here as teams try and nail down their rosters for the 2020-21 season.
