There seems to be no love lost between former Browns receiver Braylon Edwards and the city of Cleveland. Early Sunday morning, Edwards took a parting shot at the place he once called home after a borderline unwatchable NBA Slam Dunk contest.
“What the F$&@’ did I just watch with this #NBAAllStar Dunk contest??” Edwards first tweeted. “I could have won this [expletive]. #NBA and NFL your all-star weekends are trash. NHL and MLB thank you for what you do…..”

“I have to apologize for my earlier tweet about how bad the dunk contest was,” the former Pro Bowl wideout followed up. “It’s Cleveland I… what should I have expected????”

Edwards spent his first four seasons with the Cleveland Browns after being selected third overall in the 2005 NFL Draft.
6-foot-3, 214 pounds, the former Michigan product was a big-bodied receiver and redone threat. However, he failed to live up the expectations many Clevelanders had for him after being drafted so high.
Edwards had one monster season with the Browns in 2007. But, drops became a problem and he failed to ever match that production again in stops with the Jets, 49ers and Seahawks.
I’ll agree that the Browns did ruin Braylon Edwards career.
They ruined it by drafting him third overall when he had the talent of a fifth rounder. Good ol’ Stone Hands. #Browns pic.twitter.com/0i24XQhITM

Saturday night’s dunk contest was the latest in a long line of underwhelming events over the past decade-plus. Knicks forward Obi Toppin came out on top with a nice final dunk, but it wasn’t nearly enough to save the night.
