Browns Allow WR Jarvis Landry To Seek Trade: Fans React

March 12, 2022 by The Spun

Jarvis Landry catching a pass.

Last year the Cleveland Browns said goodbye to Odell Beckham Jr. It looks like Jarvis Landry could be next. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Browns have allowed Landry to seek out a trade this offseason.

“On the same day they agreed to trade for WR Amari Cooper, the Browns also have granted permission to veteran WR Jarvis Landry to see[seek] a trade, per sources,” Schefty writes.

The Browns don’t have much of a need for Jarvis Landry anymore. The team acquired Amari Cooper in a trade with the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday afternoon. Landry, meanwhile, has had a couple of down years, but still has upside.

“jarvis landry is really underrated, tough blocker, leader, can make plays on the right team with a capable qb. his next team will be happy to have him,” tweets NFL insider Dov Kleiman. ‘

The issue here isn’t talent. The Browns want Jarvis Landry’s contract off their books. If a team is willing to absorb his salary, the Browns will send him on his way.

“Giving permission to seek a trade: ‘We don’t think you’re worth your current contract. Let us know if you hear of a team that thinks you are,’” said Bucs insider Greg Auman.

There’s growing speculation Landry could become a Dolphin this offseason. That’s what most Miami fans would like to see, at least.

“Bring Jarvis Landry back to Miami,” a fan said.
