NASCAR fans are thrilled about the throwback car designs Trackhouse Racing rolled out on Tuesday afternoon.
The racing team will honor the Earnhardt family legacy with matching Coca-Cola liveries for Ross Chastain and Daniel Suárez at this week’s NASCAR Throwback Weekend at Darlington Raceway.
The No. 1 and No. 99 cars will be decked out with the same car design used by Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the 1998 exhibition race at Twin Ring Motegi in Japan — the first time the father-son duo ever raced against each other.
Trackhouse Racing announced the design with a video tribute on Twitter.
The NASCAR world took to Twitter to react to this exciting news.
“Trackhouse is becoming the leader in the clubhouse for consistently great schemes,” one fan wrote.
“Winner of the weekend. Shut it down. Trackhouse wins. These are perfect,” another added.
“We wanted to do something that honors the legacy of the sport, recognizes our valued partners at Trackhouse Racing and something that fans can get behind,” Trackhouse owner Justin Marks said in a statement. “We think this is the right combination marrying the history of the Earnhardts who are both Hall of Famers, acknowledging our support from Coke and Chevrolet, plus supporting the fans excitement for Throwback Weekend in Darlington.”
