The Dallas Cowboys have been getting a lot of attention this offseason and nearly all of it has been negative. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones decided to address that situation today.
Speaking to the media at the NFL owners meeting, Jones said that his team has been getting all kinds of attention for over 30 years. Jones feels that it’s good when his team gets that added attention – whether it’s good or bad.
“When you spend 30-something years saying, ‘Look at us. Hey, wait, wait, you’re looking away… We’re the Cowboys. Look at us.’ When it’s been that way, then when you have some things you might not want to look at, you get looked at. That’s good,” Jones said.
Dallas has received a lot of criticism for their offseason moves. The decision to trade Amari Cooper for a late round draft pick while declining to release other players taking up a lot of cap space was especially troubling.

But Jerry Jones feels – publicly at least – that the Dallas Cowboys are well-equipped to make a Super Bowl run. He has pointed out that adding a player like Micah Parsons can totally turn an entire unit of the team around.
That said, it has been over 25 years since Dallas last appeared in the Super Bowl.
Changes could be coming to Dallas next year if they can’t get over the hump in 2022.
