Just a few weeks ago, Deebo Samuel made it clear he wanted to be traded by the San Francisco 49ers.
In an era where the elite players seem to have all of the power, it’s somewhat surprising, then, that Deebo remains a member of the 49ers a few weeks later. While San Francisco hasn’t been willing to move on from Deebo, it hasn’t been for lack of trying on the part of other teams.
According to a new report, the Detroit Lions made a significant offer for the star wide receiver. Detroit was reportedly willing to part with a first and third-round pick for Samuel.
It didn’t take fans long to start reacting to the latest rumors.
“I don’t blame the niners for turning down the 32 pick and a 3rd from the lions and I also what of hung up on the jets if they asked for our 2nd round pick. But this will all look bad if Deebo doesn’t sign an extension,” one fan said.
“So Rap Sheet says the Lions offered a 1st and a 3rd (32 & probably 66) for Deebo Samuel So the question becomes, would you want Deebo in the final year of his deal and still have pick 34 Or Jameson and 5 years of a rookie deal and pick 46?” another fan asked.
Will Deebo be traded before the 2022 season kicks off?
