Just like everyone around the MLB world, Aaron Judge was touched by the “special” moment between opposing fans during last night’s matchup between the New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays.
Judge knocked out his league-leading ninth home run of the season in Toronto on Tuesday night.
The ball ended up in the hands of a man wearing a Blue Jays shirt. With no hesitation, the man turned and gave the ball to a young Yankees fan wearing a No. 99 shirt Aaron Judge shirt.
The kid was overwhelmed with emotion and hugged the opposing fan.
After the game, Judge was asked about the touching moment.
“That’s what’s special about this game,” the Yankees superstar said. “It doesn’t matt what jersey you wear, they are [all] fans. Everybody appreciates the game and that’s pretty cool. I gotta check out that video.”
After seeing the video, Judge arranged to meet the young fan before tonight’s game against the Blue Jays.
Judge and the Yankees are currently on an 11-game winning streak.
