Before concluding one of NASCAR’s most iconic partnerships, Kyle Busch will pay tribute to M&M’s with a throwback design.
On Tuesday, Joe Gibbs Racing shared a look at Busch’s team preparing his No. 18 Toyota Camry vehicle to match the original paint scheme they used over a decade ago.
Mars Inc., which began sponsoring NASCAR in 2000, reached a deal with Joe Gibbs Racing in 2008. Busch won two Cup Series titles during that time, the first of which prompted the corporation to send him a candy-constructed portrait.
However, Adam Stern of the Sports Business Journal reported last December that Mars will no longer work with NASCAR and Joe Gibbs Racing after the 2022 season.
“My appreciation for the entire Mars family is eternal,” Busch wrote December 20 in response to the news on Twitter. “With 55 wins & two Cup titles together, we’ve built friendships that will last way past 2022. The Mars family has always accepted me for who I am and I’ll always be thankful for that. Here’s to many more trips to VL in ‘22!
Busch will show off the nostalgic car at Darlington Raceway this Sunday.
