This move will save the Patriots close to $5M in cap space.
Van Noy has spent five of his last six NFL seasons with the Patriots and is coming off a stellar 2021 campaign.
He finished the season with 66 total tackles (42 solo), five sacks, and one interception that was returned to the house.
This was his first season back in New England since 2019 after he spent the 2020 season in Miami. Van Noy has always been a strong run stuffer but can make plays in the passing game too.
His best season so far has been his 2018 campaign. He finished with 92 total tackles (55 solo), plus had 3.5 sacks and one interception.
With how consistent he’s been when healthy, there will undoubtedly be multiple teams interested in signing him when free agency opens.
