Two people, including a firefighter, were hospitalized after a Jessup fire Wednesday evening, according to a news release from Howard County.
Firefighters responded to a two-story, mixed-use building at the 7900 block of Dorsey Run Road around 8 p.m. and found heavy fire at the front.
The fire department provided care to a person with serious burn injuries, who was transported to a hospital, according to the release. A firefighter was evaluated for heat exhaustion and also brought to a hospital.
It took about an hour for firefighters to bring the fire under control, with aid provided by Anne Arundel County, Baltimore County and Fort Meade.
The office of the state fire marshal is investigating the origin and cause of the fire. The building had both a residential space, as well as an office area, though the fire primarily impacted the residential section of the building, the release says.
