Motorists should avoid the 700 block of S. Charles Street Friday morning as city fire resources remain on the scene of an overnight fire, Baltimore city officials say.
At about 4 a.m. Friday, Baltimore Fire responded to the area near the Maryland Science Center for a report of explosions in the basement of a building and adjacent manholes and a fire in a utility room, according to a post on social media. The building was evacuated. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
