The forward’s late entry is the Terps’ second of the offseason.
Just two days before the transfer portal’s set closure, Maryland women’s basketball forward Allie Kubek threw her name in the ring, On3’s Talia Goodman reported Monday.
BREAKING: Maryland’s Allie Kubek has entered the transfer portal, sources told @On3sports.
The 6-2 senior averaged 9.1 ppg and 4.7 rpg this season.

Outside of the Terps’ graduating seniors, this is by far the biggest loss they have suffered this offseason. Kubek spent three seasons in College Park, sitting out her first with a torn ACL.
Kubek was an effective offensive player, averaging 9.1 points and 4.3 rebounds per game on over 55% shooting from the field during her time at Maryland. Most notably, Kubek displayed the ability to hit another level in the postseason, averaging 19 points per game on 71.8% shooting from the field.
When Maryland announced the addition of Duke transfer guard Oluchi Okananwa, it seemed its activity in the transfer portal was complete. The Terps had every roster spot filled.
All that changed with Kubek’s decision, though. She has one season of eligibility remaining.
Frese also brought in Penn State’s Gracie Merkle and Indiana’s Yarden Garzon to bulk up the frontcourt via the transfer portal this offseason; both were expected to see significant minutes before Kubek’s departure.
Kubek joins Emily Fisher (committed to Nebraska) as the only other Terp to transfer from Maryland this offseason.
