Ayedze joined Maryland this past offseason after transferring from Frostburg State. He played 11 games during the 2023 season, including the team’s bowl win over Auburn, during which he picked up a fumble. Ayedze was a usual starter for the Terps, most frequently appearing at right tackle and earning an All-Big Ten honorable mention.
Last season, Maryland had two players participate in the East-West Shrine Bowl: wide receiver Jacob Copeland and offensive lineman Spencer Anderson. Ayedze is the only Terp to have accepted an invite to this year’s game, although safety Beau Brade and left tackle Delmar Glaze will play in the Reese’s Senior Bowl and wideout Jeshaun Jones will partake in the Hula Bowl.
This year’s East-West Shrine Bowl will be played on Feb. 1 at the Ford Center in Frisco, Texas.
