In its last dual of the calendar year, Maryland wrestling took down Morgan State with ease, 35-6.
The Terps won eight of the day’s 10 bouts, including the first five. Redshirt sophomore Braxton Brown, Maryland’s competitor in the 133-pound weight class, captured a first-period pin. Four of the team’s wins came by technical fall, including back-to-back techs by 197-pound Jaxon Smith and heavyweight Seth Nevills to end the day.
Maryland, ranked No. 22 by InterMat, moved to 2-1 in team duals on the season. The squad will be back in action on Jan. 5 when it competes in the Franklin and Marshall Lehman Open in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
