Williams transferred to Maryland from Miami last offseason but played sparingly in his sole season with the Terps. He appeared in four games, making three tackles.
Coming out of high school, Williams was a blue-chip recruit, ranked by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 2 safety in his class and a top-50 prospect nationally. He never asserted himself at Miami, though, making just 27 tackles in two seasons after redshirting as a true freshman.
